Autumn morning in the Botanical Garden

Bring your coffee or tea, meet with colleagues and start the workday – and the new semester – with a walk through the University’s Botanical Garden! We invite doctoral candidates in the Social Sciences as well as supervisors and alumn of the ViDSS to participate in an English-language tour through the unique plant collection of our University. 

Please note: We will start the tour before the official opening hours. Therefore, we will not meet at the main entrance but at the Department of Botany and Biodiversity Research, Rennweg 14 (close to Belvedere). We will enter the Gardens from there.

Please register via email to vds-sosci@univie.ac.at until 13 October 2024. Priority for those who register first.

Tour: Along the Danube Channel

Thursday, 23 May 2024, 14:30–16:30

For our first ViDSS Social, we invited the members of the ViDSS to participate in an English-language city tour along the Danube Canal held by Austria Guides for Future. Together, we learnt more about climate mitigation and adaptation, Friedensreich Hundertwasser and Vienna’s Floating Gardens.

Participants were invited for drinks and ice cream after the tour.
