This mentoring supports you in developing a doctoral thesis project in a moderated peer-to-peer setting and prepares you for the public presentation at the Faculty of Social Sciences (FÖP). A coach and peers provide feedback on the research design of your doctoral thesis project, the theoretical framework you plan to build on and the methodology you intend to use, thereby helping you to develop your research proposal.

Participants will work in small groups led by a postdoctoral researcher or an advanced doctoral candidate from the Faculty of Social Sciences. Each group will meet twice during the summer semester of 2023 with several weeks in between meetings.

Target group: The mentoring is open to student members of the Vienna Doctoral School of Social Sciences (ViDSS), especially to doctoral candidates who have registered for the course FK Introduction Course: From Research Idea to a Successful Public Presentation. If places are available, doctoral candidates in the Social Sciences who are not (yet) members of the ViDSS can join the mentoring.

Dates: Monday, 20 March and 8 May 2023, 16:00–19:00 (group 1), Tuesday, 21 March and Monday, 8 May 2023, 13:00–16:00 (group 2), Tuesday, 21 March and 8 May 2023, 10:00–13:00 (group 3)
