The Vienna Doctoral School of Social Sciences welcomes doctoral candidates who seek to come to the University of Vienna for a short-term research stay of up to one year.

1. First, you need to submit an application for admission as a visiting PhD student to the central admission office. As a visiting PhD student, you may register for and complete courses at the University of Vienna and use services such as the Vienna University Library or the Vienna University Computer Center. If you are looking for a mentoring professor, please consult our list of supervisors.
2. After being admitted as a visiting PhD student, you may join the Vienna Doctoral School of Social Sciences via the following application form. As a visiting member of the ViDSS, you will receive our monthly newsletter and invitations to events for doctoral candidates. Visiting members are also listed on our website, if they consent to the publication of their data.
